Who we are:
IWIS has been in in the Marine Insurance business since 2005, over 19 years.
Susan Waters: Owner, IWIS: Starting out working for Gowrie as General Manger, and then as a "Floating Salesperson", Susan started IWIS in 2005. IWIS stands for "International Waters Insurance Service" .
Having cruised, raced, chartered, lived on, and just messed around in boats since childhood helps her understand the needs of her fellow boaters. After more than 10 years and 50,000 nm at sea, she still enjoys sailing her catamaran. When not sailing, or helping fellow boaters sort out marine insurance, her hobby is taking photographs. All of the photos on this website taken while sailing and cruising.
Laura Lindstrom Croop: With 38 years experience in the insurance industry, Laura began her career as a claims adjuster, then went on to work for two well known multi-line insurance agencies in Florida. When she left to go cruising, Laura began to specialize in marine insurance, and teamed up with Susan and IWIS in 2021. Laura cruises with her husband on a Tashing Panda 38. When she is not answering your questions about coverge for your yacht, you will find Laura scuba diving and photgraphing the sealife.
Catherine "Cat" Russell: Our most recent additon in 2023, Cat brings a background in finance to the IWIS team, and holds her adjusters license. She has been boating her whole life, and she and her husband have cruised their Lagoon 55 catamaran in Florida, the Bahamas, the Caribbean & Panama. When not sailing, Cat enjoys walking her dog, hiking, photography, and crafts.
